The public is invited to a free program that asks the question “What Does a Vibrant City of the Future Look Like?” on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
Hear innovative case studies from cities around the world as well as examples of:
- How can we create vibrant communities that benefit residents and businesses
- The benefits of making public transit, walking and cycling a normal activity of everyday life
- The role of the streets — the large public space of any city
- How parks contribute to improve the quality of life
The program, from 6:30-8 p.m., features Gil Penalosa, the Executive Director of the Canadian non-profit organization 8-80 Cities. Penalosa has consulted with more than 150 cities worldwide on how to create vibrant cities and healthy communities for everyone. The program will be moderated by Josh Brown, Executive Director of the Puget Sound Regional Council.
The program is sponsored by Community Transit, Puget Sound Regional Council and 8-80 Cities.
The Lynnwood Convention Center is located at 3711 196th St. SW. in Lynnwood.
