Fill out your census form today

If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to mail your census forms today. Census workers will soon be going door to door to households who have not returned their forms.

The national average return rate is currently 68%. Mountlake Terrace is split in to 4 areas. The return rate for those east of 44th Ave W is 70%, west of I-5 is 66% and in between is 68% in the north and 70% in the south.

During the 2000 Census, 72 percent of occupied U.S. households mailed back their forms. “This year, we hope that Mountlake Terrace residents will do even better,” said Community and Economic Development Director, Shane Hope.

The national Census Bureau sponsors the Census to count every person residing in the United States every ten years, as mandated by the U.S. Constitution.

If you didn’t receive a form or have misplaced yours, you can obtain a new one at the Mountlake Terrace Library at 2330 58th Ave W.
