The DeMiero Jazz Festival annual fundraiser, FanJAZZtic, is happening this Friday, Oct. 17 at the Edmonds Yacht Club, 326 Admiral Way, Suite 100. You’ll enjoy dinner, music, an auction, the famous dessert dash and prizes. All proceeds benefit the DeMiero Jazz Fest and all of its educational programs.
Advance ticket purchase price for this FanJAZZtic event is $50 per person, or $90 for two people when purchased together. Tickets are $60 per person at the door. Each ticket includes a glass of wine and if you buy the two-ticket combo at the reduced price of $90, you will also receive a complimentary Jazz CD.
Frank DeMiero, founder and creative consultant of the DeMiero Jazz Festival, began his teaching career as director of choral music at Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen. He then taught at Mountlake Terrace High School for seven years. DeMiero founded the music program at Edmonds Community College where he founded and directed the Soundsation jazz choirs and was Music Department Chairman for 11 years. He was Director of Vocal Jazz Studies at the University of Washington for two years. In 1998 DeMiero retired as the Supervisor of Music for Edmonds School District, where he had served for 13 years. Currently, DeMiero conducts and manages the Seattle Jazz Singers. He is also the conductor of the 100+ voice Sno-King Community Chorale and its 20-person audition-only Ensemble.
