Evergreen Elementary, which is being demolished, was burglarized on the evening of Tuesday, February 15.
Police say that the suspects apparently spent hours dismantling and removing copper piping from the ceilings of the structures. This is not an uncommon occurrence at construction sites since copper is a high value scrapping material.
Similar type burglaries occurred on multiple occasions at the former Lynnwood High School when it was being demolished and the suspects were eventually apprehended.
Detectives are now conducting periodic evening surveillance of the school property in hopes of nabbing the culprits.
