Enroll for reduced-fare ORCA card at MLT Library on Fridays

Orca cardWithinReach, a nonprofit assistance organization, is partnering with the Mountlake Terrace Library to help low-income individuals and families to enroll for reduced fares on local transit systems.

WithinReach representatives will be at the Mountlake Terrace Library each Friday from 2:30-5:30 p.m., helping people sign up for the ORCA LIFT Reduced Fare Transit Pass.

An ORCA LIFT pass enables riders of Sound Transit, Metro Transit, Kitsap Transit, the Seattle Streetcar and the King County Water Taxi to pay a reduced rate when using any of the transit systems. Eligibility for obtaining an ORCA LIFT pass is based on household income.

“The discount for the pass was previously primarily for transit in King County but has recently expanded to Sound Transit as well, helping people save up to 50 percent on their transit fares on participating public transit options,” said Emma Lieuwen, AmeriCorps Program lead at WithinReach.

The Mountlake Terrace Library is located at 23300-58th Ave. W.
