Holiday-starCraft lovers, gift givers and bargain hunters can find two holiday bazaars to explore this weekend in Mountlake Terrace.

The 29th Annual Mountlake Terrace Holiday Bazaar is set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Mountlake Terrace Elementary School. The event will not only feature locally hand-crafted gifts but also photos with Santa, a concession stand, a raffle for several different craft items, the Scholastic Book Fair in the school library, and live music from the Mountlake Terrace Elementary orchestra, band and choir.

While proceeds from the event will go into the school’s PTA general fund, money is not necessarily the focus of the day. “The proceeds are usually quite small,” said bazaar spokesperson Bridget August. “It’s not really a fundraising event, just a fun community holiday event.”

The Mountlake Terrace Senior Center hosts the first annual Holiday Gift and Craft Show Saturday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The event is the first for the senior group at their new home in the former Ballinger Clubhouse, 23300 Lakeview Dr.

The food and bazaar sale also includes music and entertainment, a ginger bread house raffle, food presentations, Santa’s Workshop where kids can have photos taken with Kris Kringle and send letters to the North Pole, and a Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, 10a.m.-1 p.m.
