Mountlake Terrace City Councilmember Laura Sonmore still had a healthy lead over challenger Stephen Barnes in the race for City Council Position 6 in the latest election returns released by the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office Wednesday.
Sonmore, the only councilmember to have an opponent in this year’s city council elections, was receiving 64 percent of the vote to Barnes’ 36 percent, basically unchanged from Tuesday night’s results.
In the Edmonds School District Board of Directors race for the open District 1 seat, Carin Chase continued to hold a slim lead over Bill Willcock, 8,014 votes to 7,690.
And the Community Transit Proposition 1 ballot measure was still passing by a razor-thin margin, with 27,399 votes, or 51 percent approving and 26,332 or 49 percent opposed.
