
The latest results from the primary show a shift in the race for Snohomish County Executive as Council Member Dave Somers, who initially trailed Tuesday night, barely inched ahead of his fellow Democratic rival, incumbent County Executive John Lovick.
Somers was leading with 32.37 percent of the vote (24,535), while Lovick was right behind him with 33.26 percent (24,530) following’s Wednesday’s tally. On Tuesday night, Lovick led by 896 votes.
Republican Robert Sutherland was third with 26 percent (19,857). Lynnwood attorney James Robert Deal (No Party Preference) garnered 5 percent (3,997) and Republican Norm Nunnally had 3 percent (2,174).
Edmonds School District Board Member Gary Noble was still running ahead of his two challengers in the District 3 race. Noble had 61 percent (9,963) and was followed by Mary Murphy with 24 percent (3,882) and Mark Norton with 14 percent (2,357).
The top two finishers in the primary advance to the General Election. The next update of results will be on Thursday.
