Election 2012: Voters still saying yes to Brier annexation

A few more ballots were counted Saturday in the City of Brier Proposition 1 annexation measure, but there was no change in the three-vote lead the Yes votes have on the No votes. With 72.79% of the ballots mailed out now counted, the Yes votes are ahead of the No votes 26-23.

If approved, 15.9 acres of the Allview Heights neighborhood between 228th and 231st Streets Southwest, and 24th and 27th Avenues West would be annexed into the City of Brier City Limits. The measure needs a simple majority for passage.

The Snohomish County Election Division will put on hold ballot tabulations until after the Nov. 12 Veterans’ Day holiday; the next update on voting results will be Tuesday, Nov. 13, around 5 p.m.
