After a holiday season of traveling to see relatives or partying the final night of 2012, perhaps a day of fun right here in Mountlake Terrace and Brier will be in your plans for New Year’s Day. Here’s a list of suggestions:

Cinebarre-cropSee a movie for $5 at Cinebarre
Mountlake Terrace hosts one of the area’s premier movie theaters in the Cinebarre, 6009-244th Street SW. Offering not just first-run movies but food and a full bar, this 21-and-older establishment is a favorite for movie-goers throughout the Puget Sound region. And since New Year’s Day falls on a Tuesday, movie tickets are just $5 (a regular feature of Cinebarre)!

You can see Tuesday’s movie times at Cinebarre here.

Try your luck at a casino
For those who want their entertainment to be a little more daring, there are now three casino/card rooms open in Mountlake Terrace. The new Palace Casino, 7055-220th St. S.W., opened Dec. 21 in what was the Silver Dollar Casino. Less than a block away is the Red Dragon Casino, 21917 Highway 99, and just a little to the east is the Crazy Moose Casino, 22003-66th Ave. W.  On New Year’s Day, the Palace Casino and the Crazy Moose Casino open at 9 a.m.; the Red Dragon Casino opens at 8 a.m. Good luck!
