The Edmonds School District’s Crisis Team was awarded “Excellence in PREPARE Implementation” at the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) conference last week.

Representatives for the team were Jo Callaghan, Director of Psychology and Counseling Services, Kate Pothier, Manager of Psychology and Counseling Services and JoAnna Rockwood, Psychologist at Alderwood Middle.

The award recognizes outstanding commitment to supporting students and educators in the aftermath of a crisis, using the PREPARE model. The District’s efforts helped to identify and meet the needs of students and staff, to facilitate effective immediate and longer-term response, to re-establish mental wellness and academic competence, and to enable all students to thrive in school, at home, and in life.
