The Edmonds School District has been recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education with a Best Communities for Music Education designation. The district was one of 376 districts nationwide — and only two others in Washington state — to receive the prestigious distinction in 2014.

In its 15th year, Best Communities for Music Education recognizes school districts that have demonstrated exceptional efforts toward maintaining music education as part of the schools’ core curriculum. This is the Edmonds School District’s sixth year in a row receiving this award and the eighth year overall.
