The City of Edmonds and the City of Mountlake Terrace have a lot in common. We share a lake. We share a mixed-use trail. We share a city boundary of approximately 2.5 miles. Many MLT resident shop, work or play in Edmonds and likewise for Edmonds residents. The Edmonds city council president was even recently quoted as saying, “The city of Edmonds has no better friend than the city of Mountlake Terrace”.
Because of all the reasons I’m excited to introduce MLTnews.com readers to a new site all about Edmonds.
Our neighbor to the west, Edmonds, has a new community news site similar to our called My Edmonds News. Edmonds was definitely in need of community news site and My Edmonds News is filling that gap. My Edmonds news was started by Teresa Wippell, an Edmonds resident with a history in journalism.
Teresa says this about the new site:
I have named this site “My Edmonds News” in hopes that Edmonds residents adopt it as their own: to report news their neighbors need to know, to share ideas or even to offer a helping hand.
Teresa has a great vision for the site that is similar to where I would like to see MLTnews go as well. Since many stories, tips and leads may be relevant to both Mountlake Terrace residents and Edmonds, MLTnews and My Edmonds news will likely be sharing information and tips so that we can both make our news sites better for our communities.
