The City of Mountlake Terrace honored Eagle Scouts Kevin Menzia and Mike Green for work projects they formulated and completed in the city’s parks department. Ken Courtmauch, Mountlake Terrace Parks and Facilities Superintendent, presented the scouts with Certificates of Achievement at Monday’s City Council meeting.

Menzia led a work effort to design and build a retaining wall to ease erosion, support an existing fence and provide bench seating along the southeast edge of the Mountlake Terrace Off Leash Dog Park, 5303-228th St. S.W. Menzia coordinated the 25-person volunteer effort and completed the project, in addition to other side projects in the park, within one weekend.

Green worked within the newly-expanded Firefighters’ Memorial Park, 3900-228th St. S.W., to renovated and move a fire truck climbing apparatus from the back of the park property to a new grassy area near the front of the park.
