Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040 Lynnwood presented the VFW Eagle Scout award to Aaron Cox of BSA Troop 67 Oct. 25 at the National Eagle Scout Court of Honor held at Lynnwood LDS Church. Cox’s Eagle Scout project was the installation of a sign and bench at Bicentennial Park in Mountlake Terrace. Cox dug a 10 foot by 3 foot rectangle to put a cement pad. He also dug two deeper holes for the sign base. He then put the sign base in the holes. Next, he mixed cement and poured it to fill the holes for the sign base and the pad. A couple of months later, he built, painted, and installed a bench next to the sign base on top of the cement pad he had previously made.
