Drop off unwanted prescription drugs on Take-Back Day Saturday at Mountlake Terrace Police station

MLT police shieldThe City of Mountlake Terrace Police Department will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Residents may drop off unwanted or unused prescription medications to Police Department staff between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the police station located at 5906 232nd St. SW in Mountlake Terrace.

People dropping off unused or expired medications do not need to provide their name. If possible, items should be left in their original containers. People are encouraged to black out any personal information with a permanent marker.

The Snohomish County Partnership for Secure Medicine Disposal provides locations throughout Snohomish County for people to drop off unwanted vitamins, cold medicines, painkillers, inhalers and other medications. The Drug Take-Back Program does not accept thermometers, used needles, or other medical waste.  Find details and hours on the Snohomish County Health District’s website, https://www.snohd.org/Waste/Medicine-Disposal, or call the program information line at 425-388-3199.
