A Mountlake Terrace police officer tried to stop a speeding car Wednesday afternoon when the driver sped off. The car turned onto 241st Street Southwest and slid into a resident’s fence.
As the car tried to leave, he backed into a Mountlake Terrace police cruiser.
The driver fled after letting three passengers out of the car. The officer spoke to all three passengers.
Mountlake Terrace Police Commander Doug Hansen said the driver then drove recklessly through a construction zone. The officer lost contact.
Officers say they have a suspect, but he has not yet been taken into custody.
