Downtown Mountlake Terrace Commercial Property Purchased

The West Plaza property in downtown Mountlake Terrace has been acquired by West Plaza LLC and will see some site improvements.

Kirk Ishizaki, representative for West Plaza LLC, says he is excited to be a part of the Mountlake Terrace community and working together to support a vibrant Town Center. Kirk says that immediate improvements to the property include fixing up the parking lot and fixing the security lighting as well as likely painting the building.

With approximately 18,000 square feet of retail space, the property is home to several existing local businesses including Double DD Meats, Prime Pizza and Queen’s Cleaners. Over half of the building has been unoccupied for some time. The unoccupied space has been home to several restaurants in the past. West Plaza LLC is currently in talks with Double DD’s to possibly expand and is looking at the possibility of breaking up the remaining space to be able accommodate 1-3 new tenants.

This is the firm’s first venture in Mountlake Terrace. West Plaza LLC has 20 years of experience in investing in other communities, such as Mukilteo, Monroe, and Shoreline.

The west plaza has had three owners in the past 10 years. In 2002 it was sold for $1.3 million, $1.95 million in 2007 and West Plaza LLC purchased the property for $1.545 million.

On May 20, the Mountlake Terrace farmers market will open in its new location on 56th Avenue in the same block, immediately east of the West Plaza building.
