After several weeks of voting the results are in: there will be a new Dick’s Drive-In north of Seattle.
Over 115,000 people voted in the poll at dicksdrivein.com to decide where the local restaurant chain should build there next location. The company made this announcement Monday morning on their Facebook page:
We are heading North! Over 115,000 people vote in our online poll. New Dick’s Drive-In will be located within a 20 mile area north of the Dick’s in Wallingford. Many thanks to EVERYONE who voted in our poll. If the new restaurant is successful to the north, we’ll build two more south and east.
The cities included in the region voted #1 are Lynnwood, South Everett, Shoreline, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace. Earlier this month the Mayor of Mountlake Terrace, Jerry Smith, met with Dick’s owner Dick Spady in attempt to woo them to our city.
The new Dick’s restaurant is expected to open in late 2011 or early 2012.
Let’s give them part of the Town Center space, complementing, not replacing, the other businesses that we go to regularly.
How about we just give them the new city campus….. we have to make up that 38 million somehow…. and I don’t want to pay for it via levys or tickets.
This is awesome. It think that we as a community should bond and push out those jerks at the Red Onion and offer the space up to Dicks. Not only would it be better food, but friendlier service for sure.
