DeMiero pitches complete game as Hawks take second game of series vs. Mavs

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks won the second game of a three-game series versus the Meadowdale Mavericks on Wednesday behind the strong arm of Dominic DeMiero and the big bat of Quintin Barnard.

In the bottom of the first inning Barnard slugged a two-run homer over the left field fence at Mountlake Terrace High School to give the Hawks an early lead, one that DeMiero made sure they wouldn’t give up. The big left-hander struck out seven Mavericks, scattered 10 hits and pitched a complete game to pick up the victory for Terrace.

With the win Terrace moves to 4-7 in league play, 6-8 overall; Meadowdale drops to 6-4 in the league, 7-6 overall. The teams match up again on Friday at 4 p.m. at Meadowdale High School.
