Two of the top runners from the Mountlake Terrace cross country teams are being spotlighted on the October Athlete Highlights posters, published by the Mountlake Terrace High School Sports Booster Club and being displayed at businesses and public gathering spots around the area.
Cross Country coach Todd Weber selected juniors Braeden Sims and Katherine Gustafson to be recognized on the October posters.
“Braeden is one of the most-caring young men I have had the privilege to coach,” Weber said. “He also has an awesome sense of humor. He is feisty and extremely tough on race day and is one of the top runners in our District. He leads by example and has done a great job of working with a talented group of young teammates this season.”
Weber called Gustafson “one of the nicest and most-caring student-athletes I have ever met.” He continued, “Katherine is a top notch student and all-around awesome person. As a runner she is a tough as they come. Kat leads the pack on interval and race days with her tenacious work ethic and her ability to push the pace and compete. (She’s) truly a pleasure to coach.”
