While the holiday season can be one of joy, peace and goodwill, the Mountlake Terrace Police Department police log lists a number of thefts and disturbances in the city over the past week:
Dec. 21 — Three packages delivered by UPS were stolen from a porch in the 5100 block of 223rd Street Southwest.
Dec. 22 — A neighbor reported seeing a woman steal a package from the front porch of a house in the 7100 block of 216th Place West. The suspect jumped into the passenger seat of a maroon Ford F-150, then fled the area.
Dec. 22 — A number of items were stolen from a car parked in the 22200 block of 51st Avenue West, including a jacket, tools, sunglasses, cash, documents and medications.
Dec. 23 — A number of residents throughout the city reported cases of mail theft. Items stolen included an I-Phone, Magic-The Gathering cards, and contents from assorted Christmas envelopes. In one case a witness described two juvenile males as suspects; in another report a witness saw a male in a dark-colored truck stealing mail. Other mail was thrown on the ground.
Dec. 24 — A vehicle was reported stolen near 236th Street Southwest and 56th Avenue West; the victim gave police the name of the suspected thief. Being known by police, officers went to the home of the suspect in the 5300 block of 230th Street Southwest and found the vehicle in the driveway, complete with license plates reported to have been stolen from a different vehicle. Also found in the vehicle were miscellaneous keys, narcotics paraphernalia and unlabeled prescription pills. The suspect was not located.
Dec. 24 — Mail theft was reported in the 23000 block of 40th Place West, the 22900 block of 41st Place West, and the 4800 block of 217th Street SW.
Dec. 24 — The rear license plate was stolen from a truck in the 23600 block of 45th Court West and replaced with a license that had previously been reported as stolen. Everett police recovered the license plate taken from the truck in Mountlake Terrace.
Dec. 25 — A 31-year-old woman, trying to deliver Christmas gifts to an apartment in the 5200 block of 213th Place Southwest, got into a verbal argument with a 31-year-old man inside an apartment after she discovered the locks had been changed.
Dec. 25 — A resident in the 22400 block of 64th Avenue West was fined $50 after police observed a dog barking in the backyard numerous times throughout the evening, including at 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and when the resident returned home at 9:11 p.m.
Dec. 26 — A resident in the 22900 block of 72nd Place West reported someone had broken into their vehicle and strewn items about the interior. Nothing appeared to be stolen.
Dec. 26 — A generator located outside a house in the 5300 block of 230th Street Southwest was tampered with, including being spit upon, having the power switch removed and dirt poured into the gas tank.

Why did the guy get fined if his dog was, well, being a dog and barking?
My cars at my house were car prowled last week as well. Tis the season…….
