Construction crews working on the 4800 block 212th Street Southwest will scale back work over the Memorial Day weekend, giving drivers a slight reprieve from detours and lane closures that have hampered travel on the arterial over the past few weeks.
Crews will be working on Friday, May 25, resulting in some lane closures and delays on 212th Street Southwest. There will be no detours in the area beginning on Friday and continuing through Memorial Day Monday.
On Tuesday, May 29, 212th Street Southwest will be closed once again between 48th and 52nd Avenue West, with detours in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Access to 212th Street will be limited to emergency vehicles, mail delivery, garbage collection and local residents.
The street, sewer and sidewalk repairs and upgrades are expected to be finished in June.
