Crews made short work of tearing down the old Electri-City Contractors and Distinctive Countertops and Cabinets buildings in the 23000 block of 56th Avenue West Monday. The lots are being cleared to make room for a new four-story assisted living facility, Vineyard Park, expected to be open in late 2014. Construction could begin as early as next month.

    • Vineyard Park is an assisted living facility which will be mostly occupied by senior citizens. Businesses need people to thrive. While I would have loved to see some retail on the bottom floor of Vineyard Park, having more people walking in the neighborhood is exactly what it needs to attract more businesses.
