The public is invited to a community meeting Thursday, June 14, to discuss work that has been taking place, along with potential future park improvements, to Bicentennial Park, a 5-acre park located at 4105-222nd St. S.W.
The meeting, sponsored by members of the city’s Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission and Neighborhood Park Improvement Subcommittee, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Flex Room of Cedar Way Elementary School, 22222-39th Ave. W.
Since 2010, city crews and volunteers have made a number of improvements to the Bicentennial Park, including removal of a cabin and overgrown vegetation, leveling and reseeding turf areas, and painting play equipment. Improvements scheduled for later this summer include installing a sidewalk in front of the park along 222nd Street Southwest. This project will enhance the overall frontage appearance of the park and provide space for on-street parking.
