You may remember the old Sharkey’s Pub in the Cedar Plaza on 228th and 44th. Apparently the owner stopped paying the bills and soon after shut the place down. I never went in Sharkey’s Pub but I hear in the past few years the place kind of went downhill after being a great spot for many years.

Opening next week in it’s place is Ringer’s Pub. I got a chance to look inside and they have done a ton of work. Their soft opening is this weekend and the grand opening will be on the 28th and 29th. More details coming next week.

  1. I only visited Sharkey's a couple of times. It was alright… I'm looking forward to Ringers. I will have to go check it out. What I really want to know is, do they still have the video games that Sharkey's had??

  3. My wife and I are in our mid 50's. We love to drink and have great Pub food. We have been to the new Ringers in Mountlake Terrace twice since they have reopened and both times had a good experience. Tonight we go there and plan on having drinks and dinner and basically hanging out and have fun. We sat at our table for 30 minutes ignored by both waitresses. I finally went up and put in my own order for drinks. Then I had to go up again and get menus. Then I went up again to order some food. In the end…my wife had to go up and pay her own bill. It was one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. I am a chef and I know service. A party of 6 came about 10 minutes before we both couldn't take anymore and they had two pitchers of beer and menus before I could count to 30!!!! The management at the new Ringers really have their radar and priorities out of wack. There is a terrible lack of management. OK…maybe they'll be fine without us….but it will certainly BE without us because I'm not giving Ringers and the staff at Ringers a chance to treat us with such neglect again. In voicing my dissatisfaction to the management…I could tell they could barely put up with me and that’s after spending 60.00 for two people. Well guess what guys??? No worries. We won't be in your way again. Dave Raynor.

      1. Yeah…I’m hoping. My gal told me I was a real ass last night and I know she was right. It’s just that we don’t get the chance to hang out like that much and not having had dinner and just wanting to go somewhere…spend so dough…have it be right and then turn into this orchestrated mess that it did…Well…I kind-a tanked. The one thing that really lit my fuse was when that party of 6 came in and the whole staff came to attention. The way gal and I tip…I’m guessing it might have rivaled the table of six. It’s these sorts of things that bring pubs and restaurants down because it seems that in that environment, being restaurants and public service places, that people are either at their best…or their worst. So…having embarrassed myself and my gal last night…I tore up my nasty letter to the owners this morning…maybe that’s you?…and will take a pill and rethink it. After all, they’re 3 minutes from my house and all in all a fun place to get out of the house…tip a few and maybe eat. I will be extra careful about going in and sitting down when the place is full or packed. My big concern is that if the management isnu2019t aware that they are messin up like this and don’t correct it…there will be more of dissatisfaction and then eventually…well…you know. OK…DR

  5. That's too bad you had such an awful experience. Hopefully it is just them still getting out the new restaurant bugs but then again they have already been open for a couple weeks.
