More than $29,000 in donations and pledges – a new record – were collected during the 2015 Clothes for Kids Transforming Lives breakfast earlier this month, with online and mail-in donations still coming in, according to a Clothes for Kids announcement Tuesday.

Thanks to the event’s sponsors, 100 percent of those donations will go directly to Clothes For Kids, the announcement said. Clothes for Kids provides school wardrobes for children in need in Snohomish County.

The My Neighborhood News Network – MLTnews, Lynnwood Today, My Edmonds News – was the media sponsor for the event.

Other sponsors for the 2015 “Transforming Lives” Breakfast were the Palatine Foundation, Umpqua Bank, Charlie’s Produce, Gerber Collision & Glass, Verdant Health, Coordinated Care, Kato Enterprises LLP, Athens Photography, K & H Printing and Jones Orthodontics.

“With the help of the community and more than 50 weekly volunteers, Clothes For Kids has provided more than 3,000 wardrobes this school year,” said Joy Ingram, Development Director for Clothes For Kids. “As a local community organization that is supported solely through private contributions, the growth of this event means even more students will receive quality school wardrobes.”
