Clothes For Kids is launching its first annual Business Coin Drive this month.

For 32 years, Clothes For Kids has been serving Snohomish County with a vision of empowering students for success one wardrobe at a time.

“Clothes For Kids is 100 percent locally funded through community support,” says Joy Ingram, Development Director at the non-profit.  “We receive no government funding and rely solely on individuals and companies to support our efforts.”

“During the month of October, local businesses will have coin collection containers at their cash registers,” Ingram said.  “Our hope is that folks will not only give but become more aware of the services Clothes For Kids provides.”

To kick off the Business Coin Drive, Clothes For Kids will host an Open House on Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“The Open House is a great way for people to learn more about what we do here,” said Tilda Doughty, Outreach Coordinator for Clothes For Kids.  “There will be refreshments, tours, and the chance to interact with Clothes For Kids staff, volunteers, and board members.”

The Open House is at 16725 52nd Ave. W. #B, Lynnwood.  Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP to office@clothesforkids.org.

During the first three weeks of this year’s Back to School clothing distribution, Clothes For Kids provided more than 1,100 low-income students with wardrobes.

“We anticipate providing more than 4,000 school wardrobes throughout Snohomish County and the Northshore School District this school year,” Ingram said.
