The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission presents the Claudia Postema Exhibit at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W. The exhibit features mixed media of acrylic and collage by Postema, a local artist.
Postema, whose mother was also an artist, was raised in a creative environment. “I believe that it is important that each person find their creative outlet, their own expressionism,” she said. “It’s that color of life in a sometimes drab world. Postema has worked with a variety of teachers, but considers herself self-taught.
Postema is currently showing at The Fish Tale Brew Pub in downtown Everett. She participated in the Arts Council’s ’Art in Great Spaces’ program a couple of years ago and discovered that she loves painting in the public eye. Later this year, she will open the ’Outdoor Art Walk’ again.
The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission oversees the library exhibits as part of its mission to promote cultural events in the community.
The show runs through July 31 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m.
