The Mountlake Terrace City Council unanimously approved a motion to authorize the City to sign the 2013-15 Collective Bargaining agreement with the Mountlake Terrace Teamsters Local Union No. 763 during Monday’s City Council meeting.
The local Teamsters ratified their labor contract earlier this month.
The bargaining groups represented by this union include: Police Support Services, Administrative Services, Public Works, Maintenance and Parks.
Wage increases are: 1 percent retroactive to Jan. 1, 2013; 2014-1.5 percent; 2015-1.5 percent beginning on Jan. 1, 2015 and .5 percent on July 1, 2015.
City staff indicated that the City’s six-year financial forecast can accommodate the wage increases through 2015. City staff also said that raises are being looked at for those individuals employed by the City who are not covered by the Teamsters agreement.
The City Council also unanimously adopted an Electric Vehicle Charging Station Restriction Ordinance and an Electrical Vehicle Charging Station Fee Resolution.
The Ordinance added Electric Vehicles and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to the Mountlake Terrace Municipal Code and clarified that parking a non-electric vehicle in an Electric Vehicle Station is an infraction, both on public and private property. City staff noted that the City already does some enforcement on private property related to fire lanes and accessible parking spaces.
The Resolution set the monetary penalty for electric vehicle charging station violations at $124, which is consistent with state law.
