Thursday’s Mountlake Terrace City Council work/study session will mark the final time City Manager John Caulfield will address councilmembers before stepping down from Mountlake Terrace’s top administrative post. Caulfield is leaving Mountlake Terrace to assume the City Manager position for the City of Lakewood in Pierce County on Sept. 3.
Caulfield is scheduled to present the city’s six-year financial forecast for 2013-2018 at the 7 p.m. meeting on Thursday, Aug. 29, in the City Council Chambers of Interim City Hall, 6100-219th St. S.W., #200.
Thursday’s meeting won’t be all about policy and reports, as city staff and council members are expected to take time during the evening to honor Caulfield and his nearly eight-year tenure as Mountlake Terrace City Manager.
Earlier this month the City Council selected Assistant City Manager Scott Hugill to assume the position of Interim City Manager in September. Hugill will be sworn in to the post on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at a special meeting of the City Council scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
We are sad to see him leave. He was a wonderful city manager and will be a great asset to the city of Lakewood.
