Nearly one year after launching its Facebook and Twitter pages, the City of Mountlake Terrace has added another option for those in the community who prefer to stay informed electronically. A YouTube Channel, “CityofMLT,” has been created to keep residents informed on various city issues and to promote the community to outside investors, businesses and shoppers.
The channel provides various informational and promotional videos about Mountlake Terrace. Videos on the channel at this time feature Police Chief Greg Wilson pointing out challenges of the building currently used as the police station, Mountlake Terrace Librarian Rosy Brewer talking about needed roof repairs at the library, and Mountlake Terrace Seniors Group President Al O’Brien leading a tour of the Senior Center. There are also videos from the Red Cross urging residents to consider emergency preparedness.
“The City of Mountlake Terrace YouTube Channel is yet another avenue to provide effective communication and outreach to our community,” said Curt Brees, Mountlake Terrace Public Works Director.
In the coming months, the city plans to add videos about new development projects, public education pieces about stormwater and public safety, and promotion of special events.
