I stopped by the old city hall Thursday afternoon to check if demolition of the structure had started. Indeed, it had. Here’s a couple photos and a video of the demo. It’s really good to see something happening in the Town Center neighborhood. It may not be the private development the city is hoping for and is only demolition of the city hall, but it’s something. It sounds like this November residents of Mountlake Terrace will be voting on whether or not we would like to fund the new civic campus by means of a property tax increase.
