At their January 3 meeting, the City Council selected Laura Sonmore to serve as Mayor Pro Tem for 2011. The longest-tenured Councilmember, Laura Sonmore has served on the City Council since 2000 and has been Mayor Pro Tem since 2007.

Jerry Smith’s fourth two-year term as Mayor for the City of Mountlake Terrace continues through 2011.

The City Council also named their 2011 representatives for city and intergovernmental boards. Mayor Jerry Smith will serve on the LEOFF I Disability, Community Transit, SNOCOM and Snohomish County Emergency Radio System (SERS) Boards. Mayor Pro Tem Laura Sonmore will serve on the Finance Committee, SNOCOM Board and represent Mountlake Terrace at South Snohomish County Cities meetings. Councilmember Michelle Robles will serve on the LEOFF I Board and Snohomish Health District Board.
Councilmember John Zambrano will serve on the Emergency Services Coordinating Agency Board and Finance Committee while Councilmember Kyoko Matsumoto Wright will continue to serve on the SeaShore Transportation Forum and Snohomish County Tomorrow. Councilmember Rick Ryan will serve as liaison to the Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission and the Arts Advisory Commission. Councilmember Doug McCardle will serve on the Lake Washington Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA 8) Forum and as liaison to the Community Policing Advisory Board and Library Board.
