MLTnews has compiled a list the people are that will be running for Mountlake Terrace City Council this year. Each of the three current Council members will be running for re-election and each of them have at least one challenger. Over the next week or so we will be publishing statements from each of the candidates so that you can get to know them and the reasons that they are running for City Council. Candidates may withdraw from a race through 5pm, Friday June 17.

Here is a run down of the candidates.

Mountlake Terrace City Council Position 5

• Michelle Robles, who currently holds the position, filed on Monday, June 6, to run for re-election.
• Robert Reedy, a long time MLT resident and current member of the Library Board, also filed on Monday, June 6, to run for Position 5.

Mountlake Terrace City Council Position 6

• Laura Sonmore, who currently holds the position and serves as Mayor Pro Tem, filed on Monday, June 6, to run for re-election
• Christina O’Brien, who has served on the Community Policing Advisory Board, also filed on Friday, June 10, to run for Position 6.

Mountlake Terrace City Council Position 7

• Kim Michel, who currently serves on the Community Policing Advisory Board, filed on Friday, June 10, to run for Position 7.
• John Zambrano, who currently holds the position, filed on Friday, June 10, to run for re-election
• Seaun Richards, owner of the Red Onion restaurant, filed on Monday, June 6, to run for Position 7
