City Council Thanks Business Association for Farmers Market

At their June 7 meeting, the City Council presented the Mountlake Terrace Business Association (MLTBA) President Don Andrews with a plaque in appreciation of coordinating the first Farmers Market that contributes to the economic vitality of the city and the health and wellness of Mountlake Terrace citizens, youth and families.

Community Relations Director/City Clerk Virginia Olsen spoke about the positive contributions MLTBA has made to the Mountlake Terrace community in establishing a Farmers Market. “This key group of volunteers worked very hard to research farmers markets, develop a business plan, hire a market manager, and work out logistics with the city,” said Olsen. “They also set up and close down each market, count attendees, greet visitors and promote the market.”

MLTBA President Don Andrews thanked the Council saying, “The Business Association takes creating the Farmers Market for Mountlake Terrace as an opportunity to give something back to the community for supporting their businesses.” Other MLTBA members recognized included Vic Sood, Judy Ryan, Steve Lahti, Don Ross, Bob Downing, Wade Heyer, Marsha Joy, Marilla Sargeant, Bo Bowen and Seaun Richards.
