The Mountlake Terrace Police Citizens Academy is now accepting applications for classes starting on April 14 through June 30. Hosted by the City of Mountlake Terrace Police Department, the Police Citizens Academy will take place Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Mountlake Terrace Library for 12 weeks concluding with a graduation reception for all participants and their families.
This Academy is for community members who would like to learn about the operations of a police department. Training sessions include information and demonstrations by K-9, SWAT, Narcotics, Records, Evidence Handling, and a ride-along with an Officer. Applicants must be willing to sign a waiver authorizing a background check for acceptance into the program and commit to attending all or most of the classes. Space is limited to the first 30 people who register.

The city is accepting applications through March 12th, but early registration is recommended.
