The Cedar Way Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization is looking for sponsors and volunteers for a new fun run the group is coordinating during this year’s Tour de Terrace festival the last weekend in July.
The Mountlake Terrace 5K Fun Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, July 28, starting at 8:30 a.m. Plans are to have the course begin at Mountlake Terrace High School, snake through back roads of the city, run through the year-old Cedar Way Elementary School playground, and end up back at the high school.
Funds raised from the fun run will benefit the Cedar Way Elementary PTO and the other public elementary schools in Mountlake Terrace.
Five businesses have already signed on as sponsors for the event: environmental consultants Blue Flame Heating and Air Conditioning, Back to Action Chiropractic, Brown and Caldwell, Cascade Elite Gymnastics, MLTnews.com and two local restaurants — Gabriel’s Fire and Red Onion.
Volunteers are needed to help with registration, manning the course, seeking sponsors and donations, and other duties.
More information on becoming a sponsor or volunteer for the event can be obtained on the Cedar Way PTO website or by emailing MLTFunRun@cedarwaypto.org.
