This Tuesday, Red Onion Burgers will be hosting a Dining for Dollars for Cedar Way Elementary, located in Mountlake Terrace.

The Dining for Dollars program originated four years ago when Cedar Way Elementary presented the idea to Red Onion Burgers owner Seaun Richards. Now, every Tuesday Red Onion Burgers hosts this community fundraising event. The restaurant donates 20 percent of its sales, 100 percent of its tips and 50 percent of its credit card tips to local schools, churches, organizations and special causes.

“We are booked six months in advance and have a waiting list,” Richard said. “With the help of community support and local participation, we have donated over $100,000 to local causes that include over $10,000 donated to the Oso mudslide and look forward to donating another $100,000 plus.”
