Cascade Symphony announces 54th season program

Cascade Symphony 2015After a sold-out 53rd season, Cascade Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is announcing its 54th season program.

Tickets are currently available for the entire season as well as individual concerts.

The CSO box office is recommending that symphony enthusiasts purchase season tickets as early as possible as single concert tickets have been difficult to obtain later in the year.

Season tickets are offered at a price of $115 for adults and $95 for seniors.

Individual-performance tickets are available as follows:

Adults $27

Seniors $22

Student with ID $15; and

Youth 12 & under $10.

The season’s first performance, entitled Celebrate 1890 is dedicated to the 125th Anniversary of the City of Edmonds. The program has been selected with this focus and the concert will include special features intended to recognize this event.

Cordula Merks will be spotlighted as violin soloist in the Sarasate Gypsy Airs and Chausson’s Poeme, Op. 25.

Also included will be Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, the Mascagni Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, Borodin Overture to Prince Igor, Tchaikovsky Prelude to The Queen of Spades, and Kodaly’s Dances of Galanta.

The performance will be preceded by a lecture by Dave Beck of KING-FM, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
