Caring for our neighbors

The Mountlake Terrace community has come together to help the families who lost everything in the Lynnview apartments fire on August 9 in south Lynnwood. The Red Onion has lead the charge and teamed up with DD Meats, Mayor Jerry Smith, Happy Cakes and Ellersick Brewery to collect donations of money and goods for the 35 families who have been staying at a church since their homes were destroyed.

On Monday and Tuesday August 16 and 17, you can bring items to donate such as furniture clothing and household supplies to the Red Onion in Mountlake Terrace and it will later be given to the displaced families. Additionally, the Red Onion will be donating half of all their sales on Monday and Tuesday to the Red Cross who is working with the families. The Red Onion is located at23209 56th Ave W.

      1. Actually, didn’t use the gift card yet… (probably still in the mailbox). I personally wasn’t in the mood for a big ole baconator (too hot out), so I had the snack-attack (2 mini cheeseburgers, onion rings and 1/4 pound of popcorn shrimp). The other three in the family had baconators though… and they scarfed them down! :)The mini-cheeseburgers were great, and of course, the O-rings were the best ever… not entirely impressed with the popcorn shrimp though. We’ll probably use Red Onion to ‘cater’ food for my twins’ upcoming 14th birthday… try to keep Dad’s sanity. 🙂
