Here are a few items that stood out from the Mountlake Terrace police reports from the last several days:
Broken door at the library
Last Friday a regular patron at the library was using the computers when he walked away from the computer with the library’s headphones still on his head. He headed towards the front door and everyone inside the library heard a loud sound. The man left the building and library employees found that the glass in the front door of the library had been broken.
Overdose
Police were called to the neighborhood around 43rd Ave W and 212th St. A man was standing outside a car where there was a another man apparently unconscious. The man outside the car said that his friend (inside the car) was known to take drugs. Police found heroin paraphernalia inside that car and the man inside the car was transported to Steven’s hospital.
Laser beams
Last Friday an MLT police officer responded to a call near 57th Ave W and 212th St SW for a theft report. When the officer arrived, he spoke with a man who was sitting outside on a bench. The man said that sometime the previous night he went to buy a bag of marijuana for medicinal purposes. When he returned he found that his cell phone and charger had been stolen.
The man then stood up from the bench and started to sway back and forth, he went on to say that someone with sweepers and lasers stole his wallet that contained $600. The man was very vague about the events that had occurred.
After listening to the man talk about people with lasers and sweepers, it became apparent to the officer that the man was suffering from some kind of mental disorder.

Wow. It was pretty interesting last year when there was a security guard at the library. Maybe still there haven’t been there in awhile.
This is too bad. The mlt library is excellent. Totally relevant books unlike the shoreline library that still carries books on dos and their fiction section is awful.
The mlt library has fiction sectioned off by genre. Makes it easy to browse for books and they have great stuff there.
It is the best library around.
