Brier librarian hosting clay face mask class Feb. 1

Sno-Isle Libraries logoBrier librarian Elizabeth Koenig has always had an interest in the pottery arts; now she is bringing that passion into the library.

Koenig will be leading a two-part class in making clay face masks that begins on Saturday, Feb. 1. Those interested in taking part must register by Friday, Jan. 31 (an extension of the previous Feb. 26 deadline) for the free classes.

Attendees will make clay face masks at the first session on Feb. 1, then return on Saturday, Mar. 1 to glaze their creations. Each class begins at 11 a.m. and participants must be available to attend both Feb. 1 and March 1.

“My whole goal is to get people over their fear and instead have fun with art and be creative,” Koenig said. She has led creative art opportunities for friends in her own home – this will be the first to be held at the Brier Library.

Koenig is looking forward to the informal art sessions. “It’s always fun to play with clay,” she exclaimed.
The class supplies are being made available by the support of the Friends of the Brier Library.
