Brier firefighter to be honored at Dec. 13 retirement ceremony

Wayne Kindig, a retiring Snohomish County Fire District 1 firefighter currently assigned at Brier Fire Station 18, will be honored, along with two colleagues, at a district retirement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 13.

The observance will take place at 9 a.m. at Martha Lake Fire Station 21, 16810-13th Ave. W. in Lynnwood. Parking will be available in the north and east parking lots of the neighboring Christ the Rock Church.

Kindig has been serving in Fire District 1 for 22 years.

Also to be honored at the ceremony will be firefighter Mike Smith, another 22-year veteran of the district, and Captain Bruce Davis, who has been with Fire District 1 for 40 years. Smith was most recently assigned to Lake Serene Fire Station 23, while Davis served as a training officer, a hazardous materials technician, a member of the district’s Honor Guard, and a coordinator of the district’s volunteer program.
