An artist from Brier is one of 56 international artists to be featured in the Northwest Watercolor Society‘s 76th Annual International Open Exhibition.
Coralynn Jones’s piece “California Coast Trail Carmel by the Sea” was selected by the exhibition’s juror, Jeannie McGuire, from more than 400 entries. Other entries came from a total of four countries and 17 states. Eighteen of the selected artists are from Washington.
“The Show limit of 56 paintings was a serious challenge,” McGuire said. “In the end, these 56 pieces form a strong body of work as well as individually holding their own.”
The exhibition will be held from April 18 through June 3 on Mercer Island at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, located at 8236 SE 24th St. The artists’ reception and awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 28 from 6:30-8 p.m.
“The accepted paintings reflect the immense talent, thoughtfulness and skill of artists dedicated to watercolor,” Northwest Watercolor Society co-chair Debbie Roskopf said. “This exhibition will celebrate the versatility of the medium and inspire everyone who visits.”
