Though I am disappointed that we don’t have a local brewry in Mountlake Terrace, there is one just a few blocks north that may as well be.
Go to almost any Mountlake Terrace business that serves beer and you’ll find Big E’s Ales. The new Ringer’s Pub and Grill in Cedar Plaza, Johnny Spuds and Canyon’s all serve Big E’s Ales. The Red Onion even serves Big E’s root beer. Ellersick Brewery runs the beer garden at the annual Tour de Terrace festival in Mountlake Terrace. They are even involved with the Mountlake Terrace Business Association.
Ellersick Brewery is located 4 blocks north of the Mountlake Terrace/Lynnwood boundary in Lynnwood at 208th and 52nd.The pub is open Tuesday through Saturday, 1-9 PM. I recommend the Scotch Ale.
Update: MLTnews contributor Mark gives us even more reason to support Big E’s:
True, but Big E STARTED in Mountlake Terrace, and is one of the reasons Rick is so involved in MLT… Rick Ellersick started Big E right out of his own garage in MLT. To buy his tasty brew, you brought over a couple of empty jugs and a couple of 5 dollar bills, and he’d set you up for the big game! He may have grown his operation and moved it to Lynnwood, but he is still very much a part of MLT. His son is even a star on the MLTHS football team!
