Track and field student athletes Alisha Clingan and Conrad Bratz have been selected to be featured on the Mountlake Terrace High School Sports Booster Club Athlete Highlights poster for the month of May. Framed editions of the poster are on display at businesses around the community.

Both Clingan and Bratz are senior captains of their respective girls and boys Mountlake Terrace track teams this season. Clingan competes in the javelin, high jump and 4 by-200 meter relay team; Bratz runs in the 400, 800, 4 by 400 relay, the 1,600 and the 3,200 events.

“Both these athletes are about as good as it gets when it comes to kindness, likeness, sportsmanship — you name it (they’re) fabulous kids,” said Mountlake Terrace Track and Field coach Russ Vincent.

While Vincent selected the two seniors for this month’s honor due to their overall characteristics as young adults, he also noted that their performances at track meets this spring has been outstanding. “Each is doing tremendously this year,” he explained, “Conrad running a sub-2:05 800 meters and Alisha throwing over 119 feet in the javelin.”

“I would love to have another 50of them,” Vincent added.

The Athlete Highlights has been a program of the MTHS Sports Booster Club for three years in an effort to build community partnerships with businesses and organizations throughout Mountlake Terrace and the surrounding community.
