For a team that prides itself on defense, the Mountlake Terrace High School boys basketball team will look back at Monday night’s game against the Shorewood T-Birds as a big disappointment as the Hawks gave up 49 second half points and went down to defeat 72-70 at Shorewood High School.
Terrace led at halftime 33-23, but couldn’t contain a T-Bird offensive attack led by the 26 points of Shorewood’s senior guard Taylor Freeman.
The Hawks were led in scoring by their co-captains Loren Lacasse with 21 points and Greg Bowman with 20 points; Yoel Tekle picked up 12 points in the loss.
Terrace will have no time to wallow in the defeat as the team hosts Wesco 3A South Conference leader Glacier Peak in a showdown at Mountlake Terrace High School on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.; the game will be broadcast live on the Sound Live Sports Network beginning at 7:05 p.m.
