Body of man found near MLT sidewalk June 10 identified

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has identified the body found in Mountlake Terrace on June 10 as that of Brien Rosenquist, 53. The cause of death is undetermined at this point; the medical examiner will release the toxicology and accompanying cause of death report in 10-12 weeks.

Rosenquist’s body was found just off the sidewalk of 237th Place Southwest about 50 feet from 44th Avenue West.

Rosenquist had been living in a tent in the greenbelt along 44th Avenue West just south of 236th Street Southwest since at least March. He had moved his tent into the woods at least once to remain somewhat hidden from passing traffic.

A small group of Rosenquist’s family members and friends were seen cleaning up his campsite on Friday, June 15, salvaging what they could from his belongings.
