The public has two opportunities in Mountlake Terrace this week to donate blood through Bloodworks Northwest, formerly known as the Puget Sound Blood Center.
The Premera Blue Cross campus at 7001 220th Street SW is hosting the Bloodworks Northwest bloodmobile on Tuesday, Feb. 23 in front of Bldg. 4. Blood can be donated from 9-11:30 a.m. and from 12:30-3 p.m.
The public can also join MTHS students, faculty and staff for a blood drive on Friday, Feb. 26 on the Mountlake Terrace High School campus. The drive will take place from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the east entrance of the high school.
Donors 18-years-old and older must weigh at least 110 pounds. Male donors 16- and 17-years old must weigh at least 114 pounds while female donors 16- and 17-years-old must weigh at least 125 pounds. First-time donors 16- and 17-years old must have a signed permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. Blood donations are not collected from individuals 15-years-old and younger.
